STRUCTURAL DESIGN AND ANALYSIS

An experienced BSL team can perform Asbestos-Containing Building Material (ACBM) and Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) inspection surveys of buildings or structures that are to be remodeled or renovated. The need for an asbestos survey arises when buildings or structures require rehabilitation or retrofitting. It is essential to identify the location and quantity of ACM and Presumed Asbestos-Containing Material (PACM) to protect employees from potential health hazards due to asbestos exposure. The survey is conducted under the guidelines of ASTM E2356.

Apart from a proper design, the essence of successful execution of retrofitting, repair and rehabilitation of concrete and steel structures depends on selection of suitable and compatible materials, methodology for works under the strict guidelines of international standards. If any aspect in the execution of work is compromised or overlooked, then the whole process will bring exactly opposite results in terms of financial and time loss.

Integrity Testing for the Design on RCC, Precast, and Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) Roof Structures for Solar Panel Installation

BSL perform structural evaluation for the installation of solar panels over roof tops of existing structures. Improper design and faulty installations can cause structural damage, water drainage and leakage issues. If the panels mounting system is not designed for higher wind loads, it can lead to structural failure potentially causing damage to entire installation.

Flat Jack in-Situ Strength Test

The in-situ measurements for compressive stress in solid unit masonry are estimated using the Flat Jack Test as per ASTM Standard C-1196. This method is developed by adopting Standard RILEM D-2 for measurements of in-situ properties of rock masses. This is a relatively non-destructive method to determine in-place properties of masonry building structures. The Flat Jack Test is suitable for old brick masonry buildings where the development of a remold sample of masonry block is not viable. BSL is now providing this test facility in Pakistan.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT) FOR IDENTIFICATIONS OF METALS AND ALLOYS.

Generally, tests for identification of metals and alloys are expensive and time-consuming. BSL offers a quick and economical method for qualitative analysis of metals to its clients. Chemical spot testing is a reliable method for rapid identification of metals and alloys used in the fabrication of machinery, equipment, tools, and plants used in food, medical, testing and other fields.

GUY WIRE TESTING - WIRE TENSION TESTING

Accurate & reliable measurement of pre-loaded wire rope / guy wire / wire cable and masts. Testing service to measure the tension of overhead suspension ropes for railway catenaries is also available. The instrument can be used to measure the tension force up to 20 metric ton/200 kN for the rope diameter in the range between 6mm to 37mm.

BSL offers limited non-destructive testing NDT techniques to accurately assess the in-place conditions of historic masonry structures and heritage sites. Non-destructive techniques do not disrupt the materials used in the construction for the archeological sites additionally the historic materials are not destroyed. PROTECTION OF FOUNDATIONS BY SOIL STABILIZATION METHOD.

BSL can provide economical solutions in accordance with international standards to improve the engineering properties of soil to mitigate the potential damage caused by the use of unsuitable soils in foundations. Most soils used as backfill materials are obtained from nearby riverbed that carry untreated wastewater from industries and other chemical pollutants from city wastewater. This can result in efflorescence in brick masonry foundations and is a major cause of deterioration of concrete and steel in subsoil RCC structures. BSL offers cheap soil stabilization techniques for long-term durability and protection for brick and concrete in contact with soil for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

A wide range of concrete testing including pre-construction and post-construction destructive and non-destructive tests are offered in very economical packages. From extraction of cores from 52 mm dia up to 150 mm dia cores from an existing concrete structure and their testing as per BS and ASTM Standards. FERROSCANNING OF RCC STRUCTURE

Ferroscan is an NDT analysis and performed on the concrete structure using state-of-the-art Hilti and Proceq equipment. This test provides information regarding steel reinforcement diameter, spacing, and concrete cover. It provides 3D visual scan images to determine reinforcement steel details in RCC structure. Capo testi, eski betonun yerinde basınç dayanımının güvenilir bir tahminini elde etmek için gerçekleştirilen ASTM Tanım C-900 ve Euro Standardı EN 12504-3 ile sonradan takılan bir çekme testidir. Capo testi, beton çekirdek elde etmenin zor olduğu ve özellikle karbonatlı yüzey tabakası olan eski köprülerde çelik donatıya verilen hasarın çok kritik olabileceği yerlerde betonun basınç dayanımının yapısal değerlendirmesi için mükemmel bir seçimdir.

Test, neme ve kimyasal saldırıya maruz kalma sonucu kalsit ve diğer alkali-karbonat ürünler nedeniyle zarar görmüş veya zarar görebilecek beton yapılarda karbonatlaşma derinliğini belirlemek için kullanılır.
